New Show Announced with Sonic Rebel and DJ ROS

I’m so excited to announce a new show at Smith’s Olde Bar on Saturday, September 24!! There’s no better way to emerge from the world’s disruptions than immersing yourself in a killer live music experience. I am super psyched about this collab with DJ ROS. His vast experience, profound musical knowledge and surgical DJ techniques coupled with the blurring the diverse influences of the Sonic Rebel original tracks, will take this drummer / DJ mashup live show to another level!!

DJ ROS: "I simply could not be more excited to join Tammy in collaboration for her 'Sonic Rebel' artist project! The live shows & original releases are guaranteed to shake things up quite a bit as we are both laser focused on breaking new ground sonically. Buckle up, good people!"

ROS is a renowned multi-genre DJ, remixer, and recording artist. Notorious for his rock concert level live sets and creative re-edits & productions, ROS’ signature sound and style has been booked at top-tier venues worldwide for the last two decades.

In 2022, with the formation of his Pirated Pop Records boutique record label, the onslaught is well-positioned to continue and intensify. A full length debut double album, several commercial releases, a headlining 2023 summer tour, and an original documentary film chronicling the last 13 years of his stellar career are just a few of the projects on deck for the upcoming year.

New Sonic Rebel Interview in Essentially Pop

“The pandemic allowed me the space to envision something new. I gave myself permission to connect with my true, real passion and that is being behind a drum kit, in the studio and on stage. Even though following my passion is not new for me, this time it’s a completely different path for which I am SO excited, and truly grateful!”

Sonic Rebel Interview in Vents Magazine

Vents Magazine interviewed Sonic Rebel about the new single and video.

“I love what Girl Talk is doing. I love what DJ Nice is doing. Travis Barker was the first person I saw to do a DJ / drummer project back when he and DJ AM did “Fix Your Face”, 10 years ago. The way I think Sonic Rebel differs from other artists is that I released We Made This With Our Hands as a standalone project and built the live sets around the original tracks. I create original music first and then put together the mashups based on the vibe and BPM, rather than the other way around.”

5.1 and Headphone Mix 3D / Surround Sound Mix Videos added to YouTube

We have three different audio mixes of the “This Vibe (Tyler Stone Extended Mix)” music video up on our YouTube Channel:

  • Stereo Mix

  • 5.1 Mix

  • Headphone Mix 3D / Surround Sound Mix

I love to push the boundaries sonically and always want to achieve the highest fidelity possible for my music. Fortunately for me, my dear friend Michael Romanowski at Coast Mastering is at the top of his game. Michael won 3 GRAMMYs this year for his immersive mixes. He mastered and mixed the Dolby Atmos, binaural, 5.1 versions of this track, and also all tracks on the EP we released last summer. We are extremely lucky to have him as a part of our team.

Of course, we are psyched to have once again worked with remarkable lighting designer / visual artist, Greg Ellis (aka The Lazershark; Pretty Lights, Steve Aoki) to produce the accompanying abstract, responsive video in 4K! The combination of his use of modular and analog video is stellar - every frame is its own portrait of artwork!

We hope you enjoy the tracks and the videos as much as we enjoyed the collaboration of creating them!!

"This Vibe (Tyler Stone extended Mix)" Out Now on All Platforms

From the inception of this project, I imagined collaborating with other artists. The original recording of This Vibe was created with future live mashups and remixes top of mind. I felt the instrumentation was the perfect canvas for Tyler Stone to add her masterful creativity to take the music to the next level. And fortunately, she agreed!

The core purpose of the Sonic Rebel project is to be experimental, to be collaborative – and to have fun! From the beginning, it was our intention to blend genres, so a dance mix was always on our radar. My good friend Tyler Stone is an insanely talented producer/remixer/DJ out of Portland. She has achieved several top ten Billboard Dance hits with her distinctive West Coast, deep house style and was one of the first breakthrough female house music producers to chart. I’m a huge fan of her work, so I sent her the EP to find out if any of the tracks resonated with her – and she really dug “This Vibe”. For all these reasons we are thrilled to have her put her spin on this new track.

Greg Ellis aka The Lazershark:

To create this video I used a combination of laser emulation vector animations and analog video synthesizers driven by audio modulation. This technique is very rare and even more complicated than it sounds 😆. Working with Sonic Rebel is always exciting because it means there are no boundaries to where the art can go. Tammy is an incredible drummer and her driving force makes for an incredible inspiration.
